Ephesians 5 – Walk in Love, Light, and Wisdom
“Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us…” (Ephesians 5:2, NKJV)
“Be filled with the Spirit…” (Ephesians 5:18, NKJV)
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church…” (Ephesians 5:25, NKJV)

Paul exhorts believers to:
- Walk in love, imitating Christ.
- Live as children of light, not darkness.
- Avoid impurity, greed, and foolish talk.
- Walk wisely, making the most of the time.
- Be filled with the Spirit, worshipping, submitting, and walking in unity.
- Embrace God’s design for marriage as a picture of Christ and the Church.
📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What does it mean?)
1. Walk in Love (vv. 1–7)
We are called to be imitators of God, living in love just like Christ—who gave Himself as a fragrant offering.
We must avoid sexual sin, impurity, and covetousness, and not let such things even be named among us.
“For because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” (v. 6)
2. Walk as Children of Light (vv. 8–14)
Once darkness—now light in the Lord.
Paul calls believers to bear the fruit of the Spirit (goodness, righteousness, truth) and to expose darkness, not partner with it.
“Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” (v. 14)
3. Walk in Wisdom (vv. 15–21)
Live carefully, not carelessly.
“Redeem the time, because the days are evil.”
Be filled with the Spirit:
- Speak in psalms and hymns
- Give thanks in all things
- Submit to one another in reverence for Christ
4. Marriage: A Picture of Christ and the Church (vv. 22–33)
- Wives: Submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
- Husbands: Love your wives as Christ loved the Church—sacrificially, sanctifying, nourishing.
This isn’t about dominance—it’s about reflecting Jesus and His bride.
“This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” (v. 32)

Whether single or married, your love should mirror Jesus: humble, holy, and self-giving.
