📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What does it mean?)
1. The God of All Comfort (vv. 1–7)
“The Father of mercies and God of all comfort…”
God is the source of true comfort — not circumstances
“Who comforts us… that we may be able to comfort those…”
Our suffering becomes a ministry tool to help others
“The sufferings of Christ abound in us…”
Shared suffering deepens our fellowship with Christ and others
2. Deliverance from Deadly Trials (vv. 8–11)
“We were burdened beyond measure… so that we despaired even of life.”
Paul is honest — even apostles feel overwhelmed
“That we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.”
Trials destroy self-reliance and build deeper trust
“You also helping together in prayer for us…”
Intercessory prayer plays a real role in spiritual rescue
3. Integrity in Ministry (vv. 12–14)
“We conducted ourselves… in simplicity and godly sincerity…”
Paul defends his integrity in how he lived and taught
“We are your boast… as you also are ours…”
There’s a mutual joy in their relationship in Christ
4. God’s Yes and Amen (vv. 15–22)
“Our word… was not Yes and No.”
Paul assures them his message was not inconsistent
“All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen…”
God’s promises are dependable and fulfilled in Christ
“Who… has also sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts…”
The Holy Spirit is our guarantee — God’s personal down payment
5. Paul’s Delay Was Love (vv. 23–24)
“To spare you I came no more to Corinth…”
Paul delayed his visit not from unreliability, but from love
“Not that we have dominion over your faith…”
True leaders don’t control — they strengthen others’ faith
