I love my father and miss him every day. As good as Dad was, he was not perfect. Like many families, sin affected our family, resulting in divorce and a broken home.
The only Perfect Father is God Himself, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. In Matthew 5:48, Jesus teaches, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” This passage reflects God’s holiness and His call for us to strive for holiness in our lives.
Furthermore, in James 1:17, it is written, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” This emphasizes God’s unchanging goodness and His role as the ultimate source of all that is good, distinguishing Him as the Perfect Father.
This Father’s Day, before you wish your earthly father a Happy Father’s Day, take a moment to thank God, the ultimate and perfect Father, for His unwavering love and endless blessings.
