Ezekiel 40 – Vision of the Millennial Temple Begins
“In the visions of God He took me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain…” (Ezekiel 40:2, NKJV)

- It’s the 25th year of Israel’s exile—God gives Ezekiel a final, majestic vision.
- Ezekiel is taken to a very high mountain in Israel, likely symbolic of the spiritual elevation of what he’s about to see.
- He sees a man with a measuring rod (possibly an angel), who begins to walk Ezekiel through the dimensions of a future temple.
- The temple is unlike any previous one—it is massive, symmetrical, and perfectly ordered.
- Ezekiel is told to pay attention and report everything to Israel.

1. A Divine Tour Guide (vv. 1–4)
- Ezekiel is transported in a vision to Israel, where a heavenly being awaits with measuring tools.
- He is commanded to observe carefully—every detail matters.
- This vision will restore hope and reveal the order of God’s future Kingdom.
2. Detailed Temple Blueprint (vv. 5–49)
- The chapter walks through:
- The outer wall (vv. 5)
- The eastern gate (vv. 6–16)
- The outer court (vv. 17–27)
- The inner court and gates (vv. 28–37)
- The chambers for priests and singers (vv. 38–47)
- The temple building itself (vv. 48–49)
- Every measurement is precise and purposeful.
- The symmetry and structure reflect God’s holiness, order, and majesty.

- The temple represents God’s presence, worship, and government.
- He’s showing Ezekiel—and us—what it looks like when Jesus reigns physically.
- Our God Is a God of Restoration
- From judgment (chapters 1–39) to hope and glory (chapters 40–48).
- The temple vision is a blueprint for the Kingdom age.
- Jesus Will Physically Reign
- This is not allegory—Amir Tsarfati and many Bible teachers interpret this as a literal future temple during the Millennium.
- Christ will reign from Jerusalem (see Zechariah 14).
- Prepare Now for His Kingdom
- This future is coming—and believers will be part of that rule (Revelation 5:10).
- Live today as a citizen of the coming Kingdom.
