Ephesians 2 – From Death to Life, Division to Unity

Dead in Sin, Made Alive by Grace (vv. 1–10)
- We were dead in trespasses, following the world, Satan, and our own flesh.
- “But God…” changed everything—He made us alive with Christ.
- We are saved by grace through faith, not by works.
- We are now His workmanship, created for good works He planned for us.
From Outsiders to Citizens (vv. 11–22)
- Gentiles were once without Christ, without hope, and without God.
- Now, through the blood of Christ, we’ve been brought near.
- Jesus is our peace, breaking down the wall between Jew and Gentile.
- All believers are now part of one household, built into a holy temple.

Salvation by Grace:
- Titus 3:5 – Not by works of righteousness but by His mercy
- Romans 3:24 – Justified freely by His grace
God’s Workmanship:
- Philippians 1:6 – He who began a good work will complete it
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 – If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation
Unity in Christ:
- Galatians 3:28 – No Jew or Gentile; all are one in Christ
- 1 Corinthians 12:13 – We were all baptized into one body
Christ as Cornerstone:
- Isaiah 28:16 – A tested stone, a precious cornerstone
- 1 Peter 2:6 – He who believes on Him will not be put to shame

Principle: You were dead, but now you’re alive. You were far off, but now you’re near. You are part of God’s new creation and His new community.

Remember What You Were Saved From
Never forget the depth of your lostness—it magnifies the beauty of God’s grace.
Live Like You’re God’s Masterpiece
You’re not a mistake. You were handcrafted by God for purpose and impact.
Tear Down Walls, Build Bridges
Christ removed the dividing wall. Are you still building any? Choose unity over division.
See the Church as Sacred
You are not just attending church—you are the church. A holy temple, fit for God’s presence.

What does “dead in sin” mean in a real, personal way?
How does grace redefine your view of God, yourself, and salvation?
What does it mean to be God’s “workmanship”? What good works is He calling you to?
How has Christ brought you closer to people you once viewed as outsiders?
What would change if you really saw your church community as God’s holy dwelling?
