My Story, His Glory: Sharing the Gospel Through My Testimony

🌅 Introduction: Why My Story Matters

There was a time when I thought sharing the Gospel meant knowing all the right verses or being bold enough to preach on the street corner. I felt unqualified and unsure. But one day, a friend reminded me:

“Your story is the sermon no one can argue with.”

He was right. Nobody can debate the reality of a changed life. My testimony is the living evidence that Jesus is alive.

If you’ve ever wondered how to start sharing your faith, this devotional will walk you through how to use your story to point people to His story — the Gospel.

📖 1. The Gospel: The Heartbeat of My Story

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
— Romans 1:16 (NKJV)

The Gospel isn’t advice for good living — it’s God’s rescue plan for humanity. It’s the news that Jesus Christ came to save sinners, to restore broken lives, and to reconcile us to God.

The Gospel says: You can’t earn it. You can’t fix it. You can only receive it.

When I finally understood that salvation was not about my effort but about His grace, everything changed. My failures were no longer the headline — His mercy was.

🛣️ 2. The Romans Road: God’s Clear Map of Salvation

The Book of Romans gives us a simple, powerful outline of salvation — often called The Romans Road. It’s like stepping stones that guide someone from awareness of sin to new life in Christ.

Step 1: We Have All Sinned

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

Every human being has missed God’s perfect standard. Sin separates us from a holy God.

Step 2: Sin Has a Consequence

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

Sin earns us spiritual death — separation from God. But God’s gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Step 3: God’s Love Made a Way

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (NKJV)

Christ died not for the good, but for the guilty. His love reached me before I ever reached for Him.

Step 4: We Must Respond in Faith

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
— Romans 10:9–10 (NKJV)

Salvation is personal. It’s not enough to know the truth — we must receive it by faith.

Step 5: Salvation Is for Everyone

“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
— Romans 10:13 (NKJV)

Whoever means anyone. Grace excludes no one. The invitation is open to all who call on His name.

✝️ 3. My Testimony: The Gospel in My Life

Before I could share the Gospel, I had to face the truth about my own story.

Before Christ

Before I met Jesus, I lived for approval and success. I was restless, searching for meaning in things that always disappointed me. I believed in God but didn’t know Him personally. Deep down, I was empty and afraid.

How I Met Christ

It wasn’t in a church revival — it was in an ordinary conversation. A friend shared Romans 5:8 and told me that Jesus loved me at my worst. That broke through my pride. That night, I prayed and surrendered. I said, “Jesus, I need You.”

And He met me. Forgiveness washed over me. Peace replaced fear. Grace became real.

After Christ

I’m still learning, still growing. But now I live with purpose, peace, and hope. My failures don’t define me anymore; His mercy does. I have a relationship, not a religion.

💡 4. Why My Story Has Power

“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul.”
— Psalm 66:16 (NKJV)

Stories connect before sermons ever do. God wired us to respond to testimony. That’s why Jesus often said, “Go and tell what great things the Lord has done for you.” (Mark 5:19)

When I share my testimony, I’m not bragging about myself — I’m bragging about my Savior. People may argue with theology, but they can’t deny transformation.

❤️ 5. The Simplicity of Sharing

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

The enemy whispers, You’re not ready to share your faith. But Scripture says otherwise. God has given me His Spirit — not fear, but power and love.

Evangelism isn’t a speech; it’s a conversation. I share my faith the same way Jesus did — with gentleness and truth.

When the Samaritan woman met Jesus, she didn’t preach — she simply said:

“Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
— John 4:29 (NKJV)

That one sentence brought her entire village to Him. Her story became a revival.

🕊️ 6. Overcoming Fear: The Confidence of the Spirit

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
— Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

The Holy Spirit gives power to speak, courage to love, and wisdom to know when to share. Evangelism isn’t about talent — it’s about dependence on the Spirit.

I don’t have to convince anyone. I just have to share what God has done, and let the Spirit do the convicting.

🔥 7. Writing My Testimony

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.”
— 1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV)

I learned to prepare my story in three parts:

  1. Before Christ – My struggle and need for hope.
  2. How I Met Christ – How the Gospel became real to me.
  3. After Christ – What has changed since I believed.

Writing it down helped me see His fingerprints in every chapter of my life. Now I can share it in a few minutes with anyone God places in my path.

🌍 8. Inviting Others to Respond

When the time comes to invite someone to receive Christ, I simply walk them through Romans 10:9–10 again:

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Then I ask gently,

“Would you like to begin a relationship with Jesus right now?”

If they say yes, I lead them in a simple prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. Thank You for dying for me. I believe You rose again. Please forgive me, come into my heart, and make me Yours. Amen.”

It’s not about the exact words — it’s about genuine faith.

🌿 9. Living a Testimony Worth Sharing

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)

People watch how we live before they listen to what we say. My actions preach louder than my words. When I fail, repentance speaks louder than perfection ever could.

The world doesn’t need perfect Christians; it needs honest ones who point to a perfect Savior.

💎 10. The Joy of Obedience

“That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.”
— Philemon 1:6 (NKJV)

Every time I share the Gospel, I’m reminded of what Jesus has done for me. It reignites gratitude and deepens my love for Him. Evangelism renews my faith as much as it reveals His grace to others.

✝️ 11. The Chain That Cannot Be Broken

Salvation has three stages, all guaranteed by God:

  • Justification – I was declared righteous by faith.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Romans 5:1 (NKJV)

  • Sanctification – I’m being made holy by the Spirit.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
— Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

  • Glorification – One day, I’ll be perfected in His presence.

“Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
— Romans 8:30 (NKJV)

My salvation is secure — past, present, and future. When I share the Gospel, I’m inviting others into that same unbreakable grace.

🕊️ 12. My Personal Prayer of Surrender

“Lord Jesus,
Thank You for saving me and writing a story of grace in my life.
Use my words, my actions, and my story to bring others to You.
Give me courage when I’m afraid and compassion when I share.
Let my testimony bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

🌄 13. My Mission Forward

“He who wins souls is wise.”
— Proverbs 11:30 (NKJV)

Each morning, I ask the Lord for one divine appointment — one conversation, one opportunity, one person who needs to hear the hope I’ve found.

The Gospel is too good to keep to myself. The world doesn’t need another debate; it needs living proof that Jesus saves. My story is that proof.

💖 14. Closing Encouragement: Your Story Is the Bridge

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”
— Psalm 107:2 (NKJV)

You don’t have to be a preacher, theologian, or missionary to share the Gospel. You just have to be real. When you tell your story, you tell His story — the story of a Savior who still rescues, restores, and redeems.

So tell it.
Speak it with courage.
Live it with joy.
And remember — when you share your testimony, heaven rejoices, and someone else may find the road that leads home.
