The Romans Road

🛣️ The Romans Road

A Gospel-Centered Invitation with Real-Life Application and Discipleship Built In

📖 THE PROBLEM: SIN STARTS WITH ALL OF US

Every person is born with a sin nature inherited from Adam. This original sin has separated us from a holy God.

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”
— Romans 5:12 (NKJV)

As John MacArthur says, “We are not sinners because we sin; we sin because we are sinners.”
We don’t need self-help.
We need a Savior.

✝️ THE GOOD NEWS: JESUS CAME TO RESCUE US

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life we couldn’t and to die in our place. His death satisfied the wrath of God. His resurrection broke the power of death.

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God…”
— 1 Peter 3:18 (NKJV)

🛣️ The Romans Road

📍Romans 3:23 – We are all sinners

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

📍Romans 6:23 – The penalty for sin is death

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

📍Romans 5:8 – God’s love sent Jesus

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

📍Romans 10:9 – We respond in faith

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

📍Romans 10:13 – Anyone can call on Him

“For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’”

🧡 SALVATION ISN’T MAGIC WORDS

You don’t get saved by reciting a ritual or formula. You are saved by God’s grace through faith in Christ—and when you truly believe, He changes your heart.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

🗣️ SAMPLE 3-MINUTE TESTIMONY

“I grew up thinking being a ‘good person’ was enough. But deep down, I had no peace. Life hit hard, and my strength wasn’t enough. Someone shared the gospel with me, and for the first time, I understood I was a sinner in need of Jesus. I trusted in Christ—and He changed everything. My life didn’t get easier, but now I have real peace, purpose, and a Savior who’s never left my side.”

💬 Framework:

  1. Before Christ – What was life like before?
  2. How You Met Christ – What clicked?
  3. After Christ – What changed?

🌱 DISCIPLESHIP: THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Salvation is the new birth. Discipleship is growing up in Christ.

📖 1. Read God’s Word Daily

“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”
— 1 Peter 2:2 (NKJV)
Start with John, then read Romans. Use a reliable Study Bible (e.g., MacArthur or NKJV Study Bible).

🙏 2. Pray Regularly

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.”
— Colossians 4:2 (NKJV)
Prayer keeps your relationship with God personal and strong.

🏠 3. Join a Gospel-Preaching Church

“…not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
— Hebrews 10:25 (NKJV)
Find a Bible-teaching, Christ-centered community. You’re not meant to walk alone.

💧 4. Be Baptized

“Then those who gladly received his word were baptized…”
— Acts 2:41 (NKJV)
Baptism is an outward sign of your inward faith and obedience.

👥 5. Get Discipled in Community

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations… teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”
— Matthew 28:19–20 (NKJV)
Grow in a group. Walk with someone who’s walked farther. Be teachable. Be faithful.

🙏 READY TO RESPOND?

If God is stirring your heart, pray from that place of faith. A sample prayer might be:

“Jesus, I believe You died for me and rose again. I confess I am a sinner in need of Your mercy. I turn from my sin and trust You alone. Be my Savior. Be my Lord. Change me from the inside out. Help me follow You. Amen.”

🕊️ Final Word

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NKJV)

Jesus saves, and He keeps.
This is the gospel.
This is the road.
Walk it. Share it. Live it.
