📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What Does It Mean?)
1. The Transfiguration (vv. 1–9)
- Jesus is gloriously transformed—His face shines like the sun, His clothes like light.
- Moses and Elijah appear—symbolizing the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets.
- Peter wants to build tents—God interrupts: “This is My Son… Hear Him!”
Lesson: Don’t get stuck in religious rituals—Jesus is greater than the Law and Prophets. Listen to Him.
2. Elijah Must Come First? (vv. 10–13)
- The disciples ask about prophecy—Jesus says Elijah has already come in John the Baptist.
- He points again to His coming suffering and death.
Lesson: Prophecy is fulfilled perfectly in God’s timing—but often not the way people expect.
3. Healing the Demon-Possessed Boy (vv. 14–21)
- A father begs for his son’s deliverance—the disciples had failed.
- Jesus calls them a faithless generation, then heals the boy.

- Jesus tells them plainly: He will be betrayed, killed, and rise again.
- The disciples are exceedingly sorrowful—they still don’t fully understand.
Lesson: Jesus knew His mission. The cross was not a tragedy—it was the plan.
5. Temple Tax and the Miracle Fish (vv. 24–27)
- Peter is asked if Jesus pays the temple tax.
- Jesus explains that He’s the King’s Son and exempt—but to avoid offense, He provides the tax miraculously: a coin in a fish’s mouth.
