Ezekiel 38 – Gog, Magog, and the Latter Days Invasion
“I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” (Ezekiel 38:16, NKJV)
“It will come to pass at the same time… that My fury will show in My face.” (v. 18)
🔍 CAPTURE THE SCENE (What Do I See?)
- A prophetic word against Gog, from the land of Magog—a powerful leader of a northern alliance.
- Nations named include Persia (Iran), Cush (Sudan), Put (Libya), Gomer (possibly Turkey), and Togarmah.
- The coalition comes to invade Israel, described as “a land of unwalled villages… at rest.”
- God is orchestrating the setup—He draws them in to display His glory.
- God promises to supernaturally destroy the invaders with earthquake, hail, fire, and panic.
- The result: the world will know the Lord.
📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What Does It Mean?)
1. The Rise of Gog and His Allies (vv. 1–6)
- Gog is a leader, not a place—many believe he is a future figure, possibly Russian or from a broader northern coalition.
- Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, etc., are descendants of Japheth, settled in the northern and eastern regionsbeyond Israel.
- This massive military alliance spans multiple continents and Islamic nations.
2. God Brings Them to Israel (vv. 7–9)
- God sets the trap: He puts hooks in Gog’s jaws and brings him against Israel.
- The timing is significant: Israel is described as restored, peaceful, and prosperous.
- This could point to a time after a false peace treaty (possibly Daniel 9:27).
3. Israel: At Peace, Yet Vulnerable (vv. 10–13)
- The invaders seek plunder, drawn by Israel’s wealth.
- “Sheba and Dedan” (Arabian Peninsula) and Tarshish (possibly Western Europe or Britain) stand by and question—but do not intervene.
- The attack is about greed, not politics.
4. God’s Judgment on the Invaders (vv. 14–23)
- When Gog attacks, God rises in fury.
- The Lord uses:
- A great earthquake
- Panic and confusion
- Hailstones, fire, and brimstone
- The defeat will be so miraculous that God will be glorified before all nations.
- The world will know He is Lord—this is God’s ultimate purpose.

- Evil never surprises God. He’s always 10 steps ahead.
- God Will Defend Israel Supernaturally
- The world may abandon Israel, but God never will.
- He will act with power that no military can match.
- When God Acts, the World Will Know
- This war is not about politics—it’s about God’s glory.
- He uses judgment as a stage for worship.
- Live Ready. The Time Is Short.
- If this prophecy is near, so is the Rapture and Tribulation.
