Romans 10 – Salvation for All Who Believe

“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13, NKJV)
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17, NKJV)
🔍 CAPTURE THE SCENE (What do I see?)
Paul continues his message of sorrow for Israel but emphasizes that salvation is near—it’s not hard or hidden. This chapter includes:
- Paul’s heartfelt desire for Israel’s salvation.
- Israel had zeal without knowledge—seeking righteousness by the Law instead of submitting to God’s righteousness.
- Christ is the end (fulfillment) of the Law for righteousness.
- The righteousness of faith doesn’t say “who will ascend?” or “who will descend?”—it simply believes and speaks.
- The word is near—in your mouth and heart.
- If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and God raised Him—you are saved.
- Salvation is for everyone who believes, Jew or Gentile.
- Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ.
- How will people hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent?
- Israel heard, but didn’t all obey—God has extended His hands, but they resisted.
📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What does it mean?)
- Paul’s Passion for Israel (v. 1)
Even after explaining election, Paul continues praying for Israel’s salvation—showing both truth and compassion. - Zeal Without Truth (vv. 2–4)
Israel was sincere, but wrong. They rejected God’s righteousness in favor of their own effort. But Jesus fulfilled the Law for those who believe. - The Simplicity of Faith (vv. 5–10)
Faith doesn’t require climbing to heaven or descending to hell. The gospel is right here, and salvation is found in believing and confessing Jesus. - The Universality of the Gospel (vv. 11–13)
There is no distinction—“whoever believes” will be saved. God’s grace is for everyone. - The Chain of Salvation (vv. 14–17)
Paul lays out the logic of evangelism:- People must call on Jesus.
- To call, they must believe.
- To believe, they must hear.
- To hear, someone must preach.
- To preach, someone must be sent.
- God’s Hands Are Still Extended (vv. 18–21)
Even though Israel resisted, God’s message has gone out. He remains patient, holding out His hands to a disobedient people.

🙌 EXECUTE (So what? How does this affect my life?)
Principle: The gospel is near, the message is clear, and salvation is available to all who believe and confess Jesus.
- Don’t Overcomplicate the Gospel
You don’t need to fix yourself first. If you believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord—you are already saved. - Be Bold With the Word of Faith
The Word is near you—in your mouth and heart. Speak it. Share it. Declare it. - Pray and Preach With Urgency
People can’t believe what they’ve never heard. Be a messenger with beautiful feet—go where God sends you. - Believe for the Hard Cases
Like Paul, don’t give up on the people you love, even if they’ve rejected the gospel before. God’s arms are still open. - Celebrate God’s Open Invitation
He saves “whoever calls”—that includes you, your neighbor, your enemies, and people from every nation.
