📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What does it mean?)
1. Stand Firm and Reconcile (vv. 1–3)
“Stand fast in the Lord, beloved.”
Paul pleads with Euodia and Syntyche to be reconciled
“Help these women who labored with me…”
Even faithful servants sometimes need help making peace
2. Rejoice, Don’t Worry — Pray! (vv. 4–7)
“Rejoice in the Lord always… Let your gentleness be known…”
Joy is a command — not based on circumstances
“Be anxious for nothing, but… let your requests be made known to God…”
Prayer and thanksgiving lead to supernatural peace
“The peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds”
3. Right Thinking, Right Living (v. 8–9)
“Whatever things are true… noble… just… pure… lovely… of good report…”
Paul gives us a filter for healthy, faith-filled thinking
“Meditate on these things… and the God of peace will be with you”
4. Content in Every Circumstance (vv. 10–13)
“I have learned… to be full and to be hungry… to abound and to suffer”
Contentment is learned through trusting Christ
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
This is about enduring all circumstances, not achieving anything
5. Generosity and God’s Provision (vv. 14–20)
“You shared in my distress… no church shared with me except you only…”
Paul praises their faithful giving
“Not that I seek the gift, but… fruit that abounds to your account”
God sees and rewards every act of generosity
“And my God shall supply all your need…”
According to **His riches in glory by Christ Jesus
6. Final Greetings (vv. 21–23)
“All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household.”
Even in Rome, the gospel had reached the Emperor’s circle
“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
