Acts 28 – Unstoppable Mission: From Shipwreck to Rome with Boldness
“Paul… preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.” (Acts 28:31)
🔍 CAPTURE THE SCENE (What do I see?)
After the shipwreck in Acts 27, Paul and the other passengers wash up on the island of Malta. There, God performs miraculous signs through Paul, opening hearts and building bridges for the Gospel. Eventually, Paul finally arrives in Rome, where he continues to boldly preach the Gospel even while under house arrest.
- On Malta, the locals show kindness.
- Paul is bitten by a viper but suffers no harm—people first assume he’s cursed, then believe he is a god.
- Paul heals Publius’s father and many other sick people on the island.
- After 3 months, they set sail for Rome.
- In Rome, Paul is allowed to live under house arrest, guarded by a soldier.
- He gathers the Jewish leaders in Rome and explains his imprisonment.
- Paul preaches about Jesus from the Law and the Prophets—some believe, others do not.
- He quotes Isaiah 6, warning them about spiritual blindness.
- Paul turns to the Gentiles, declaring they will listen.
- The book ends with Paul continuing to teach about the kingdom of God and Jesus Christ—with confidence and no restrictions.
📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What does it mean?)
- God Uses Setbacks as Setups (vv. 1–10)
The shipwreck brought Paul to Malta. The snakebite became a testimony. The healings opened doors. God wastes nothing—He turns trials into testimonies. - The Gospel Will Go Where God Sends It (vv. 11–16)
Despite delays and disasters, Paul reaches Rome, exactly as Jesus said (Acts 23:11). God keeps His word. - Preach the Whole Counsel—Even When It Divides (vv. 17–24)
Paul taught from Moses to the prophets. He gave the full story. Some believed, some rejected. Faithfulness doesn’t depend on outcomes, only obedience. - Warning Against Hardened Hearts (vv. 25–27)
Paul quotes Isaiah to explain why many refuse to hear. The Gospel offends those who cling to control—but it liberates the humble. - God’s Word Cannot Be Chained (vv. 28–31)
Though under house arrest, Paul preached freely and confidently. The Word of God isn’t limited by circumstances—it spreads in power.

Paul ministered in Malta, on the sea, and in Rome. Wherever you are today, that place is your mission field. - Speak Boldly, Even When Limited
Paul was under house arrest, but the Gospel was free and powerful. No job loss, illness, or setback can silence your witness unless you allow it. - Preach Jesus From the Whole Bible
Paul connected Jesus to Moses and the prophets. Be equipped to explain Christ from the full story of Scripture. - Stay Bold to the End
The book ends not with Paul’s death, but with ongoing boldness. Let your life preach until your final breath. Don’t stop.
