Acts 26 – Bold Before Kings: Testimony, Truth, and the Call to Repent
“King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe.” (Acts 26:27)

Paul stands before King Agrippa, Queen Bernice, and Governor Festus—surrounded by power, wealth, and political pressure. Instead of defending himself, Paul seizes the moment to preach the Gospel, telling his full testimony and explaining Christ’s mission. Agrippa is nearly persuaded, but ultimately walks away unchanged.
- Agrippa tells Paul he’s permitted to speak.
- Paul respectfully acknowledges Agrippa’s familiarity with Jewish customs.
- He shares his early life: a strict Pharisee, zealous for Jewish law.
- He explains the real reason for his trial: his hope in the resurrection.
- Paul describes his radical encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.
- Jesus told him he would be a witness to Jews and Gentiles, turning people from darkness to light.
- Paul emphasizes obedience: “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.”
- He summarizes his message: repentance, turning to God, and living a changed life.
- Festus interrupts: “You’re out of your mind!”
- Paul calmly replies, “I speak words of truth and reason.”
- He appeals directly to King Agrippa, asking him if he believes the prophets.
- Agrippa replies, “You almost persuade me to become a Christian.”
- Paul responds: “I wish you—and everyone—were like me, except for these chains.”
- Agrippa and Festus agree: Paul has done nothing worthy of death or chains.
📖 ANALYZE THE MESSAGE (What does it mean?)
- Your Testimony Is a Weapon (vv. 1–18)
Paul’s story of transformation—from persecutor to preacher—is a Gospel in itself. God uses our personal experiences to open hearts and minds. - The Resurrection Is the Core Issue (vv. 6–8, 23)
Everything hinges on whether Jesus rose from the dead. Paul boldly declares that Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophets—and that He rose from the dead. - Obedience to the Call Matters (v. 19)
Paul didn’t negotiate with Jesus. He obeyed. That same call to radical obedience still echoes in every believer’s life. - The Gospel Demands a Response (vv. 24–29)
Festus mocked. Agrippa deflected. But both heard the truth. The Gospel always confronts and calls for a decision. - Truth Doesn’t Depend on Outcome (vv. 30–32)
Paul wasn’t released. Agrippa didn’t convert. But Paul was faithful. Success isn’t measured by results—but by obedience.

Know your story. Practice telling how Jesus saved you—and be ready to share it anywhere, with anyone. - Stay Focused on the Resurrection
Don’t let the world reduce the Gospel to “moral improvement.” It’s about a risen Savior, and the power to change lives. - Obey the Call Without Delay
Paul didn’t hesitate when Jesus called him. Obedience is urgent. Don’t stall when you sense God’s direction. - Don’t Be Discouraged by Rejection
Paul didn’t win Agrippa—but he planted seeds. Some will resist, mock, or walk away. You’re not responsible for their decision—just your faithfulness. - Keep a Soft Heart for the Lost
Paul says, “I wish you were like me, except for these chains.” He loved even his accusers. Don’t lose your compassion when facing mockery or resistance.
