Mary sister of Lazarus

Episode 1: “The Death of Lazarus”

I am Mary, the sister of Lazarus. When my brother fell ill, we sent for Jesus, hoping He would come and heal him. But Lazarus died before Jesus arrived, and my heart was broken. I wept at the tomb, distraught over the loss of my dear brother. Jesus, deeply moved, also shed tears with us.

Episode 2: “The Miracle of Lazarus”

When Jesus arrived at the tomb, He commanded Lazarus to come out. To our amazement and joy, Lazarus emerged from the tomb, still wrapped in burial cloths. It was a miraculous moment that filled us with awe and gratitude.

Episode 3: “Anointing Jesus”

Just days before the Passover, during a dinner at our home in Bethany, I knelt at Jesus’ feet. I anointed His feet with costly perfume and wiped them with my hair, expressing my profound love and gratitude. Jesus looked down at me with compassion and understanding, affirming my act of worship.

This act of devotion was criticized by some, but Jesus defended me, saying that I had done a beautiful thing for Him. He said my actions would be remembered wherever the gospel is preached.

My story is a testament to true discipleship and love for Jesus. Through my grief, my worship, and my witness of His miracles, I sought to honor the One who brought life and hope to our family.
