Annoyance vs Compassion:
Oftentimes the people closest to you are the ones that know how to hit your buttons or climb under your skin with annoying comments or behaviors. A facial expression or body language showing disrespect, boredom, disinterest, or destain oftentimes builds walls instead of connecting with bridges. Praying for someone’s soul and the ‘pie in the sky/make-believe dream person’ that is not real distracts us from focusing on the reality of the relationship and the ‘real’ person with all its flaws and humanness. We hold higher standards of behavior for others while oftentimes excusing our own imperfect behavior as “Oh, well” and holding them to the “holy grail”. We need to show compassion, mercy and forgiveness to others while always offering an olive branch for peace with love. Familiarity breeds annoyance oftentimes that needs to be checked with compassion. Love others as you love yourself. Distractions including chasing rabbits while the issue that is loud and in front of you needs to be addressed. Annoyance vs Compassion in our closest relationships needs to be looked at. We judge others harshly while giving ourselves s free pass. Love others freely as God has loved you.
