Stuttering to Standing up to Speaking up

Stuttering to Speaking
I Started stuttering at camp when I was 9 years old while attempting to buy a snack from the cantein/snack bar. My stuttering went underground or was I hiding behind being quiet while we moved 13 times before I left for college at age 17. I have battled with my stuttering over the years untill recently that I have embraced my enemy “Stuttering” while on the journey of finding MY VOICE which has lead me here to talk about my life. Sometimes in life you must Stand Alone but most of all you must Stand up, Speak up.

  1. Susie, thanks for sharing. God does not make mistakes and allowed you to stutter for some divine reason. The Apostle Paul (our Dad’s name) also suffered from some physical challenge that God chose not to heal. Paul’s thorn of the was poor eyesight (2 Cor. 12:1-6). I am amazed at how God can use us and what we consider weaknesses to his glory. Do you remember who in the Bible stuttered?

    1. Moses may have stuttered. Or speech impediment. Thank you for your comment. It makes me think, boy, I must be supposed to speak. God uses the weak things of this world to confound the wise. Use me Lord. Or maybe he wanted me to be sensitive and a good listener. To write.

      1. Dearest Susie, my intention was not that you fix your weakness and speak prolifically with clarity. Forgive me if that is how it came across. My intention for my comments was merely this, God can use us despite our weaknesses. God has given you so many gifts and strengths. It is between you and God how you join him. This is a personal decision that you will get peace about as you grow in Christ. Despite Paul praying for God to heal him from his thorn of the flesh… God did not heal Paul and Paul went on to be one of the most prolific apostles and missionaries. God used Moses despite his weakness. God sent Moses to face Pharaoh with his brother Aaron (Exodus 3:1 – 4:1). I believe our weakness help remind us of our dependency on Christ. God may or may not heal our weakness and afflictions. Remember, God does not make mistakes. He is in complete control. Through Him all things are possible.
