Beyond the First 30 Days – TRUTH + CBT

📈 Beyond the First 30 Days: Renewing the Mind for the Long Haul

After the first 30 days, growth doesn’t stop — it deepens. The next phase is about tackling advanced distortions, strengthening your identity in Christ, and learning how to build relapse-prevention rhythms. Dr. David Burns expands on this in Feeling Great (Chapters 20–29):

  • Ch. 20–22 → Should Statements, Labeling, and Self-Blame. These distortions go deeper, often tied to shame and identity.
  • Ch. 23–27 → The Four Great Deaths of the Self. These chapters explore how false identities must “die” so you can walk in freedom — a powerful parallel to discipleship.
  • Ch. 28–29 → Relapse Prevention. These strategies help you prepare for setbacks so that struggles don’t undo your progress but instead become opportunities for growth.

Instead of daily micro-steps, this stage shifts into monthly themes, giving you more space to practice truth in real-life situations. Each month includes:

  • Scripture for meditation
  • Journaling & Reflection (✝️ Scripture + 🧠 CBT prompts)
  • Notebook Practice for weekly writing
  • Study & Practice for accountability and group discussion
  • Affirmations for ongoing renewal

Think of this stage as moving from habits into lifestyle. You’ll cycle through truth, practice, and accountability until it becomes second nature.

🤝 Walking Together

This journey is not meant to be lived alone. Scripture calls us to confess and encourage one another (James 5:16, Hebrews 10:24–25).

One excellent long-term option is Re:generation — a Christ-centered discipleship recovery ministry now offered in hundreds of churches nationwide.

Re:Gen offers:

  • Weekly teaching and worship.
  • Small-group accountability.
  • Practical steps to live free in Christ.

If you’re beginning to move beyond the first month, Re:Gen is a powerful next step for long-term transformation.
