Revival – Acts 10

Who Is Our Cornelius?

In Acts 10, God shattered centuries of barriers between Jews and Gentiles. Peter’s vision of the sheet and his encounter with Cornelius showed that the gospel is not bound by ethnicity, culture, or custom. “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” (Acts 10:15)

Cornelius was the outsider—a Roman soldier, part of the empire that oppressed Israel. Yet God chose him as the doorway for Gentiles to receive the Holy Spirit. Revival began when Peter obeyed God’s call to cross the cultural divide and step into Cornelius’s home.

Today, we face our own divides. Evangelical Christians and secular academics often look at one another with suspicion. Politics pit neighbor against neighbor. Families and communities fracture along lines of ideology and identity. We may not call others “unclean,” but our attitudes often reveal the same walls.

This week, as the nation watched the memorial service for Charlie Kirk, we witnessed something extraordinary. His widow publicly forgave the young man who took her husband’s life. That act of grace echoed the radical forgiveness of the Cross, where Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

So we ask: Is our country ready for revival? Are we prepared to see God break down walls that feel immovable—political, cultural, racial, even personal? Revival will not come through anger or vengeance, but through the shocking love of Christ, the kind that can forgive even an assassin.

The Spirit is still asking us the same question He asked Peter:

  • Who is our Cornelius?
  • Who do we consider unreachable?
  • Will we step across the divide in the power of the gospel?

Revival begins when we obey God’s call to love as Christ loved us—without partiality, without barriers, without fear.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh. — Acts 2:17

🙏 A Prayer for Revival

Lord, break down the walls we have built between ourselves and others. Forgive us for the ways we have called “unclean” those whom You love. Fill us with Your Spirit so that we may see with Your eyes, love with Your heart, and cross the divides that keep us apart. May Your church rise in unity and boldness, and may our nation be awakened by the power of the gospel. Begin with me, Lord. Use me as a vessel of Your revival. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
